Smallville Season Finale. Bizarro World.
Since I won’t be reviewing any other finale till next week (Heroes, Housewives, Lost, Betty, HIMYM and very late reviews of the Galactica and FNL finales), I though I’d donate Smallville a whole post. It certainly deserves it. I don’t think I’ve liked the show this much since the second season. First let’s get the major plot theories out of the way.
Lana’s dead: No, she’s not. She faked her death, there are clues throughout the episode. How dumb do you have to be to actually think she’s dead?
Lionel might die: No, he won’t. This guy has more lives than a cat. He “almost” dies every season. This time he’s only buried under some debris. Do you really think Clark won’t out him out of it?
Martha Kent, the Senator: I think she’s leaving the show. She’ll probably be around as a recurring, but definitely not a regular anymore.
Chloe’s Gone: I’m pretty sure she is. The boards are full of people saying she might have been “tired” after using her power and I really don’t think so. Believe me guys, I would have preferred Lana going six feet under. I love Chloe just as much as the next person, still, I think she’s dead. The way she died on the other hand, was totally crappy. We have never met a meteor freak who died after using his or her powers. Crappy death.
Bizarro’s Here: Yes, he is. And he’s pretty cool. I hope he sticks around for a while kicks Clark’s super-ass.
Those aside, the finale wasn’t that bad. We got to see great special effects (well, great for television anyway), two possible deaths (well three if you count Lois’s, which was reversed), Lionel’s true colors were shows and Martian got some action (I think he’s cool, I don’t know why people have a problem with him being black. Wasn’t the comic version black too, when he switched to human skin?).
Lex has completely gone off the deep end, there is no redemption for him and I’m thinking, finally! That’s the way it’s supposed to be. If it’s possible, I hate Lois even more now. Her stupidity and stubbornness cost Chloe her life, plus she’s just as annoying as ever. I can’t believe I’m typing this but I’m honestly looking forward to next season
